Breakups Support Group

“It is a strange thing to feel illness and grief in the same organ. There is no telling one from the other.”

- Marilynne Robinson, Gilead

Breakups aren’t easy.

It’s more than just the end of a relationship - it’s an ending to a life you imagined together, and an ending to the part of you entwined with another.

Healing isn’t simple, but it can feel achievable with the right support.

Healing Hearts is a peer to peer support group for women and femmes in any stage of a breakup, divorce, or who are already separated.

Meeting details can be found through the New Normal Charity’s Eventbrite page

Breakups can be heartbreaking, devastating, liberating, infuriating, empowering, and so much more. It’s an emotional roller coaster: one moment you’re riding the high feeling excited, and the next you’re engulfed in feelings of sadness, grief, anger, regret, loneliness, and uncertainty. The unknown of what’s to come is daunting, and you wish you could just fast forward to being yourself again.

It can be hard to find people who understand how much space it’s taking up in your mind. Maybe you don’t want to burden anyone with your feelings. Or perhaps it’s tough to even put words to what you’re going through.

You don’t have to do it alone. Healing Hearts is a space that aims to bring together individuals going through this transition themselves, because we know how hard it can be doing it alone. This is a space to connect, share experiences, find belonging, and most importantly, just reassure you that you are not as isolated as you feel.

Who is this group for? Women and femmes who are in any stage of a breakup, divorce, or who are already separated. This is not a group for you if you are still deciding whether a breakup or divorce is the right option for you.

What to expect? Meetings are open and non-judgemental, and there is never any pressure to talk if you prefer to attend and listen. The group is overseen by our trained facilitators, where members can talk to one another about their experiences, struggles and challenges in a safe environment.
